Esther Newton Made Me Gay

Take a look at this taster clip from a new documentary-in-the-making about the life and work of Esther Newton. A pioneering Anthropologist, writer and activist, she was the first to write about lesbian and gay issues in her field at a time when such subjects were still unthinkable in academia. Esther Newton was a contributor to the SSS 2018, and her influential books include: Mother Camp and Margaret Mead Made Me Gay; most recently she has published a wonderful contribution to the queer archive: My Butch Career: A Memoir.
